Rules of thumb

  • About 1 restroom per 50 guests for a 4-hour event
  • Longer events need more. Scale up for each extra couple of hours
  • Add about 15–20% for an open bar
  • Include at least 1 ADA unit, and about 5% of units at larger public events
  • Add 1 hand-wash station per 10 restrooms, plus one at every food area
  • Multi-day events need daily service

Public events in Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, St. Augustine and Daytona Beach go through the city's special-event review, which may set its own restroom minimums. We'll match your permit.

Questions we hear a lot

Does alcohol really change the count?

Yes. Guests use restrooms more often when drinks are flowing. Plan about 15–20% more units for an open bar.

How many ADA units do I need?

At least one for any public event. Larger events and many permits call for about 5% of units to be accessible.
